One Thousand and One Nights, also known as Arabian Nights, is a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales compiled over many centuries during the Islamic Golden Age. The stories are framed by the narrator Scheherazade and include Aladdin, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and Sinbad the Sailor. First translated into English in the early 18th century, the Arabian Nights remains one of the most influential story collections in world literature.
